“Empowering Voices, Transforming Lives.”
SARC (Social Action and Research Centre) is a women’s rights organization founded in 1997 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. We work to combat violence against women, child sexual abuse, and gender inequality.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh has long been a region where feudal, caste-based, and patriarchal structures have led to widespread violence against women. Recognizing that women’s rights were completely ignored in the development sector, SARC was created to fill this gap and provide justice, safety, and empowerment to women and girls.
Today, we are one of the leading grassroots organizations fighting for women’s rights in Eastern India.
To create a just and equal society where women have access to their rights, safety, and opportunities for growth.
To create a society, based on equity and justice where every individual has access to equal rights and opportunities.
